One of my favourite parts of the process has always been the selection of the last. The last itself determines everything: comfort, toe shape, heel height, etc.

I believe, to make a beautiful shoe you need to work on a beautiful last and I've dedicated much of my time as a shoemaker to studying the variations in the shapes of shoes, lasts, and foot anatomy. All with the focus & intention of being able to achieve those desired silhouettes I see in museums.
